Introduction

In Australia, midwife is considered to be responsible and accountable for providing effective guidance, care, support and suggestions to women during their pregnancy, postpartum period, and labor as well as to conduct birth. Midwife is also responsible for providing care and affection for infants and newly born babies. The tasks for which midwife is responsible are providing antenatal education, preventive measures, identifying complexities ion child and mother, guidance to conduct normal birth, making aware with the required medical care and support in appropriate emergency measures. The role of midwife is to guide for safe parenthood assuring woman health, reproductive and sexual health as well as child care.

Discussion

Providing care to women during their pregnancy is my responsibility. I am a skilled and certified professional with extraordinary proficiency to provide effective guidance and care to women for their health and health of their infants throughout the childbearing cycle by evaluating the complications. I am aware of all the legal and professional practices of midwifery and conducted all my practices according to its rules and regulations. I also offer them preventive measures for conducting a safe and healthy birth. I am responsible to conduct my performance on the basis of legal and professional practice.

Domain 1: Legal and Professional Practice

Last week a woman conducted a healthy delivery of a baby girl. The case of that woman was assigned to me and I accomplished my duty successfully. I counseled and supported her throughout her pregnancy for the sake of maintaining health measures of that woman as well as her baby. At her first visit, when I met her, we had a detailed discussion related to her previous pregnancies, medical history as well as her concerns about her current pregnancy. I asked her to visit me regularly that helped me to be aware of her concerns and relevant issues as well as her expectations with respect to the birth (www.anmc.org).

I fulfilled my responsibility in accordance with the legal and professional practices by concentrating on the different aspects including responsibility, execution in accordance with legislation upsetting midwifery and expression of management. I focused on the health of both of them as a significant matter and gave a respectful position to that woman and her baby in society. I established on this legacy and objective constantly to develop the safety measures of midwifery care so that woman, her baby and family get facilitated with the best possible outcomes (Baston, 2009).

Competency 5: Assesses plans, provides and evaluates safe and effective midwifery care.

I utilized all my knowledge and skills for providing care for that woman and her baby with essential requirements. I was all prepared to deal with any emergency situation with first aid equipments, ready to provide instant services.
