Introduction

It is a profession of health sciences that provides care and advice to pregnant women before and after childbirth. The midwife (man or woman) provides care throughout pregnancy, help during childbirth that occur under its responsibility and provide care to the newborn and infant. Midwifery is one of the most recognized and considered to be as an accountable profession, midwife are responsible and they works in partnership with woman to support them and advice them during pregnancy, labour and postpartum period, they are also responsible to provide care for newborn and the infant. Being a professional midwife, I have capabilities to promote normal birth, I can detect complication that can occur during pregnancy and provide to solution to them. The profession of midwife is very complex and connected with a lot of patience, love, social commitment and also to some extent with idealism.

Discussion

The career choice is one of the most important decisions in life and should not be left to chance. Therefore, it is important to start thinking about training and professional desire in advance. In many cases, it is therefore advisable to complete an internship to advance its interests, strengths, but also weaknesses to be able to define clearly. The profession of midwife is very complex and connected with a lot of patience, love, social commitment and also to some extent with idealism.

I feel myself responsible to counsel and educate not only women but also families and community. My work includes antenatal education; I can prepare parenthood that extends to woman's health, their sexual and reproductive health and child care. As a teacher, midwife, I want to be a mediator between the school and practical training course. I want to show young women where they are, strengthen their backs, so in this wonderful profession they feel safe and can claim. Another focus is therefore the introduction to personal responsibility that is demanded equally in hospital operations as in the free practice at a high level.

My strengths and areas for development

Able to provides comprehensive care for women and their babies during pregnancy, labor, birth and the postnatal period;

Able to monitors the health of the mother and baby;

I can offer advice on their diet;

I can performs routine deliveries and assistance during complicated deliveries;

Can work as a part of a multidisciplinary team of doctors and nurses;

Can provide workshops, conferences, prenatal classes;

Can teach the profession of midwife or supervise clinical rotations;

In addition to assisting with childbirth, midwives play an important role in health promotion, consultation and education. I, being professional Midwife trained to:

Work with the client before getting pregnant;

Advise the client about contraception and family planning;

Help the client prepare for parenthood, and

Advise other aspects of reproductive health.

The profession of midwifery has been around for hundreds of years. This suggests that demand remains stable.
