Introduction

Microsoft Office is an office suite which interrelated and covers the applications of the desktop. It services and servers for the operating systems are Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows. Microsoft released Microsoft office initially in 1989 for Apple Macintosh. In 1990, another version for the windows was created. The initial versions of Microsoft Office contained Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, from which the most commonly used application of MS Office, is the Microsoft Word.

Microsoft Word (often - MS Word, or just Word) is a word processor which has been designed to create, view and edit text documents, with local application of the simplest forms of table-matrix algorithms (Hobson, 2005). MS Word is available from Microsoft as part of a package, Microsoft Office. The first version was written by Richard Brodie for the IBM PC, using the DOS, in 1983. Later released a version for Apple Macintosh (1984), SCO UNIX and Microsoft Windows (1989).

Microsoft Word is the most popular of the currently used word processors, making it the binary document format standard. Export and import filters in this format are found in most word processors. Document format of different versions of Word change and are modified, the differences are quite subtle. Like other applications of Microsoft Office, Word can expand their capabilities through the use of built-in macro language (first used WordBasic, the version of Word 97 is used VBA - Visual Basic for Applications). However, it provides ample opportunity for writing embedded in the documents of viruses (so-called "macro"). The most striking example was the epidemic of a worm Melissa. Also, no harm will use antivirus software. The first virus infecting Microsoft Word was a DMV, created in December 1994 by John McNamara to demonstrate the possibility of creating a macro virus (Hobson, 2005).

On January 10, 2009, were leaked screenshots from an alpha version of Office 2010 by a beta-tester (McCracken, 2000).

On April 15, 2009, Microsoft confirmed that Office 2010 will be officially launched in the first half of 2010. From this month until the present is available to download the public beta of Office 2010 to computers 32 and 64 bits.
