Introduction
The current times are observing emergence of large number of issues in various societies, with the economic and social issues holding the most eminent and apparent position. It has been observed that most of the developing countries are facing issue of poverty, which is not only affecting the economic structure of the society but at the same time, is also placing significant impact on the social structure and the various social institutions and processes taking place in the society. it is due to the same reason that the topics and issues related to the poor, and measures for poverty reduction have gained central position, and a number of international forums and organizations are now taking steps to curb the issue (Brush et al, 2010, Pp: 109- 114). This unprecedented attention and consideration has led to the development of a number of procedures, combined with the research on already developed procedures, to ensure proper poverty reduction and betterment in the living conditions prevailing in the society.
The same researches and studies have proved the importance and significance of microfinance in reducing poverty, proving it to be an effective and tool that might be made to penetrate in the poor sections of society and thus come up with better and applicable results. This research mainly focuses on the analysis of main debates and arguments about the apparent consensus around Microfinance as a tool to address poverty and social exclusion, with specific focus on women empowerment. The research would be specifically focused on Jordan; however, the findings and implications of results would have general approach and thus would be applicable in other contexts as well.
In order to provide complete understanding of the issue and to highlight the various factors involved in the issue, mainly the share of women in improving financial position of the country. The paper would thus include detailed about the recipients and applicants, improvements in household relations for women indicated through higher influence of women on households decisions, increased hours of paid work. In addition, the research seeks to provide answers regarding the unsolved problems pertaining in Jordan, thus making addition to the knowledge body and providing basis for introduction of new and innovative methods of poverty reduction. It should be noted that the specific focus on women empowerment through microfinance in Jordan does not only assist in specifying the topic but at the same time, also allows the researcher to focus on one particular social issues prevailing in the society.
