Focus of the study

Micro credit is one of the revolutionary economic inventions of 20th century. This loan pro?ect is aimed at the people who are unable to apply for traditional bank loans. It works as a platform for the unemployed people to self employment. Especially the developing countries like, Bangladesh, has been benefited by Micro credit, where most of the Micro credit clients are women. In Bangladesh women are financially still in backward condition. The condition is worse in rural areas where illiteracy rate is at its highest. But Micro credit has opened the door for them to have small earnings which provide them position in family, society and community. Therefore, the following ob?ectives will be examined in this paper-

To review extant conceptual models and theoretical frameworks related to micro credit institutions in the developing countries.

Doses availability to micro credit enable female in Bangladesh to succeed?

Is there any significant link between access to micro credit and business success?

Research Rationale

To critically evaluate the various aspects of Micro credit, how it is able to change the lives and professions of women, its impact on them and its effect on their role as small entrepreneurs.

Review the literatures done on Micro credit and focusing specifically on women, affected by that.

Justify the criticisms and make recommendations on changes required to make it more effective for women to strengthen their power in family, community, society, country and above all financially.

Background for the Study

Micro credit is a financial loan pro?ect for the poor people who don't have ability for traditional banking or loans. It was originated in Bangladesh by the Grameen Bank. In 2006 Grameen Bank and its founder Dr Muhammad Yunus won Nobel Peace prize for pioneering Micro credit and its successful application in Bangladesh. Micro credit is the extension of small loans for the poor people who are not considered eligible for the conventional bank loans or in other words, not bankable.
