The Mexican Drug War is an armed fighting going on between some of the most powerful competing drug cartels in Mexico and forces of the Mexican government. The drug cartels have engagedin armed combat with each other primarily for the purpose of usurping control of some of the major markets in the region. Reports of acts of violence among the drug cartels have been aired regularly by media.
