Gender roles all the time have been important within our culture. Certain societies have diverse outlook as to what gender roles are tolerable and which are not. The behaviors in these gender roles have to stick on to that society's norms. Our societies have throughout out time forced expectations on the behavior of the members of civilizations, and thus the gender roles of these individuals, resulting in prescriptions regarding who we are and how we should act.
