What is mentoring?

In UK and Europe, mentoring define as,” To help and support people to manage their own learning in order to maximise their potential, develop their skills, improve their performance, and become the person they want to be.” This statement clearly explains that the relationship of mentoring is not to deal as a management or supervisor (Zaari, 2009, 365). It simply implies that mentoring is leaner centred and also brings the change in mentee's attitude, skills, knowledge and ability. There are two types of mentoring, first, the induction mentoring. In this mentorship, a practitioner is assigned to a new staff member, to help him through their first month. This arrangement designs for a fixed amount of time. Thus it helps the candidate to adjust and become familiar with the working department. The other type is Developmental mentoring, which occurs just the once a staff member is well conventional in their role and feels they would benefit from thinking about how to enlarge their competence or plan for future progress.
