Search strategy

Search data was limited to 10 years with date ranges between Jan 01, 2002 to May 19, 2011. Following keywords were used for each of the components related to topic, i.e. schizophrenia and recovery.

Schizophrenia:

Schizophrenia AND diagnosis

Recovery:

Recovery OR treatment OR recovery process

Exclusion Criteria

-Meta-analyses and Reviews

-Studies examined two mental disorders simultaneously

-Papers published before 2002.

Inclusion Criteria

- Primary researches, either qualitative or quantitative in nature

- Survey, experiment, descriptive research, phenomenology, or ethnography research methodology have been used

- Patients have been diagnosed as only with Schizophrenia

Search Results

Search on Sage and Science Direct cumulatively provided 1069 results related to diagnosis and recovery from Schizophrenia Disease. Exclusion criteria refined the search to 394 papers. From that, data was filtered to 24 acceptable study papers involving recovery from Schizophrenia Disease. Final two selected papers from search strategy are:

In this paper, researchers determine the self-identity as a key part of recovery in individuals suffering from schizophrenia.
