Introduction

Mental disorders have always been the topic of interest for the professionals in the field of medicine. Till to date, it appears to be incomprehensible to find the prefect cure of such disorders. According to Kinderman (2005), the professionals like psychiatrists and psychologists are so far successful to have found reasons but they have tried a variety of treatment with little positive outcome. This paper aims to explore the implications of one biggest problem prevailing in defining mental disorder is that one certain treatment does not work for same type of patient the next time. The professionals cannot define the cure applicable to all patients with the same disorder. The same mental disorder in one patient tends to pose the demand of another course of treatment; this injects immense confusion and uncertainty to define the course of treatment.

Patient Profile

The patient, Jean Ted, is 23 year old married woman Chicago. It has been 2 years to her marriage to Jonathan Smith. She appears to have been experiencing extreme mood changes before her wedding. She belongs to working class and works at a packaging department in a local company. She often faces issues while getting along with her extended family members. Most recently, she has started to face extreme behavioral change with her husband for no concrete reason which sabotaging her married life as well. They do not have children at yet which really upsets her and she is becoming increasingly more violent in her attitude. The two factors that are profoundly adding to her problem are having no children despite various attempts and her issues with being over-weight.
