Primary Memory

Primary Memory is one which is presently active... that is when you think of a situation, the primary memory is loaded with that situation, where does it get that information for that situation from is the secondary memory.

Primary memory includes short-term and working memory. It's called primary because it is the brain's first stop on the way to long-term memories (which are also called secondary memories); that is, you first remember something in the short-term and then, sometimes, that information goes on to become long-term.
