The employers would want a union free environment in comparison to a place with unions. Due to this reason, the employers do not like the fact that they are dictated by the policies of the unions.
A unionized environment means incurring more costs by the employer. In this environment, employers must be ready to counter the claim for enhancement of member's wages. Negotiating for higher wages is one of the priorities of the union. In comparison to this, in a union free environment the employer is under no obligation to increase the wages of its employees. In such cases, increase in salary and benefits is at the judgment of the employer. There is no pressure for them to increase the wages.
