Introduction

The study relates to Medicaid patients and the satisfaction level in the quality of care received by the patients during hospitalization. The study mainly focuses on Chicago hospitals in order to get the knowledge about the Chicago healthcare.

Hypothesis

HO: There is a relationship between Medicaid patients and an overall satisfaction in the quality of care received during hospitalization in 10 Chicago hospitals.

HA: There is no relationship between Medicaid patients and an overall satisfaction in the quality of care received during hospitalization in 10 Chicago hospitals.

Literature Review

Medicaid is a program that provides financial assistance to low-income people; moreover, Medicaid funds come from both state and federal governments and administered by the states. However, quality nursing care is nowadays essential goal of contemporary nursing. The level of quality of care provided continuously monitor and analyze the use of quality indicators such as the prevalence of pressure ulcers, patient falls. Medicaid is a program all the federal and state governments to help pay the costs doctors of certain individuals and families who have limited income and resources. Medicaid pays doctors, pharmacists, hospitals or other service providers participating in the program by attending that you provide (Henry, 2010). Each state decides what counts in calculating the income and resources of people, who qualifies, what services are covered and the costs of services. The states also decide how to run their program as long they follow the guidelines of the Federal Government. Medicaid generally covers the following:

Care home health care for people who qualify for the services of the skilled nursing unit;

Hospital admission;

Hospital outpatient;

Medical Services;

Prepaid Services and periodic screening, diagnosis and treatment children under 21 years;

Services and pediatric services of specialist nurses family care;

Services and supplies for family planning;

Services Laboratory and X-ray;

Services of health clinics in rural;

Services of nurses and midwives;

Services of qualified health centers by the federal government;

Services of the nursing unit for people aged 21 or more;

Services related to pregnancy;

Transportation to and from necessary medical services;

Vaccines for children.

The objectives of past study are to evaluate the perception of users that citizens have health centers with regard to care and further understand the underlying reasons for these assessments. To this end we performed a retrospective survey of a sample of nearly four thousand users of the health centers. The questionnaires were delivered by members of the ARS directly to users who were asked to fill out and give back in postage-paid underwritten, thereby ensuring complete anonymity (Henry, Kaiser Family Foundation, 2010). The questionnaire previously validated yielded values ??and indicators of satisfaction with primary care in the following areas that are relationship and communication, medical care, information and support, continuity and cooperation, and organization of services. The response rate was 40.5%, considered a good citizen participation in satisfaction surveys.
