USA Revolution

Wars always lead to tragic events and harsh memories, regardless of its causes. The revolutionary war (1775-1783) and the civil war (1861 and 1865) are two of the major wars that changed the shape of the globe. The series of events that haves caused these wars have always been a very important component in the field of media. Lives of the revolutionary soldiers, all the women who participated and the war veterans are and will always be quoted in glorious terms. American war commenced in 1775, as a war between Britain and the 13 British colonies in North America. The Englishmen fought for their basic and civil rights that they considered were infringed by the British government (Goodwin 2001). In the year 1775, the American Revolutionaries took control over the 13 colonies and formed the Continental Army.

American Revolution started on the imposition of numerous acts that infringed the rights of the Englishmen. A series of events led to the Revolution including political, economic and social and philosophical reasons. American Revolution was also the result of several social injustices and inequalities. Historians agree that spread of the individualistic practice of happiness was one of the underlying social causes of the revolution. The shift from communalism to individualism was the main factor in this regard. Racialism, discrimination and unfair civil behavior also contributed to the revolution. Since the early 1600, when the first European settlers landed on the East Coast, they began to restructure and reshape North American continent for economical purposes (Goodwin 2001). Americans started complaining about the way they were treated and were not given the same rights as that of the British people. They started complaining about the fact that their basic human and civil rights were being violated, which subsequently became the primary reason for American Revolution and consequently the separation from the British Empire.

The American Revolution that started as a struggle for rights with the 13 colonies protesting against taxes, and other intolerable acts by the British parliament came to an end in 1783 when the treaty of Paris was signed, and sovereignty of United States was recognized (Higley Burton 2006). The Americans began the movement when they could not bear the unjust policies of British parliament and finally, after facing a lot a hardships and struggles, declared themselves as independent on 4th July 1776 and formed the United States of America. The Americans proved the power of determination, spirit and unified action. They instilled the sense of basic human rights and taught the world, how a democratic form of government works. The Revolutionary and Civil war was a disaster. In addition to deaths of more than 300,000, the destruction and looting caused famine, epidemics, ruin of agriculture and livestock. On the other hand, the countries got used to resolve conflicts by violence.
