BBC

BBC is the home for BBC's UK online service. It is the largest network of news websites which include high profile websites such as BBC sports and BBC News etc. BBC online include a wide range of content which range from sport, news, music, science, entertainment and technology. BBC online has the British orientation, however, the homepage, sports section, and news section provide varying content between “international” and UK visitors. Separate pages are also allocated to Wales, Northern Ireland, and Wales that are written by the BBC Nations. BBC online also contains reports and opinion pages which reflect a great range of opinions from different spheres of life (Sizemore, 2013).

Today Online

TODAY is Singapore's second largest newspaper after The Straits. It is an English-language newspaper which is published buy Singapore's largest media coaster's daughter company “MediaCorp Press” (About Today Online, 2013). The news paper balances between all news beats, for example, it publishes national, world, sports, technology, Asia sections and allocate them about similar space. The prominent stories are easy to identify due to the section of “hot stories”.

BBC RSS

RSS (Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary) is widely used by newspaper to update their readers from different news resources. BBC RSS feed is also a feature of BBC online which keeps updating its viewers or readers around the clock.BBC RSS feed has the “Top Stories” feed having 3 different versions. It defaults to the one targeted at the part of the world its readers are living in. Like its online service, RSS feed of BBC also provides a wide range of news beats for readers to select from. RSS feed also includes a great of light or entertaining news.

Mode Of Delivery

Mode of delivery across all three mediums differs; however. All three also have certain similarities when it comes to delivering news to readers. Print media is totally different to that of electronic which includes websites and RSS feeds. Language on print media is formal than any mode of communicating news. The space allocated to the stories in print mode depends upon the importance of the story. Print media can never be interactive as it only has words to read. It has printed pictures but cannot have sounds and animations. In contrast, online versions of news papers are interactive. They have videos regarding the story to watch. They have animations and other mode of interaction.

However, the similarity between print and online version of one newspaper is the lay out. The e-paper of print newspapers have same lay outs and due to this fact their language and orientation are exactly same. Nonetheless, online news websites such as BBC online greatly differs from the e-papers. They have their own lay out, language, and user interface.
