Measures of Central Tendency

Introduction

Measures of central tendency and distribution of central tendency of the population, an indication of the value of the characteristic in the statistical community, around which are clustered the features of all companies included in this group. Central tendency can be described using measures of central tendency (or measure the average or mean). These measures are commonly used because they are simple to compute. The calculation of these measures allows for a characterization of the level of a phenomenon occurring in the statistical community, with only one or a few numbers. Measures of central tendency, however, have a synthetic character, which affects the exclusion of differences between the characteristics of individual companies included in the statistical community. It is a statistical calculation that provides us with information on the distribution of our variables. The statistical analyzes of this type include among others i.e. mean, median, and mode.

Calculation

Mean

In statistics the mean value is pointing to where the most concentrated distribution data which can be considered the balance of frequencies in a histogram. Mean is a significant value from a list of values. If all numbers in the list are the same, then this number is the mean of the values. Otherwise, a simple way to represent numbers in the list is to choose randomly some number from the list. However, the word 'mean' is usually reserved for more sophisticated methods. In the latter case, the mean is calculated by combining values ??from a set of a specific value and generating the mean of the set. Arithmetic mean is the simplest way to calculate an mean, but other methods such as median (used when the distribution of values ??is poorly organized with large and small values, such as yield).
