Introduction
In the past, organizations could do the same things (i.e. use an unchanged strategy) every year and still be successful, but companies today face an increasingly dynamic environment, which is affected by rapid and intense changes: global changes in politics, economics, technological development and values, which alter the business environment. There are several methods for performance evaluation, each of which has advantages and disadvantages and appropriateness relative to certain positions and situations. One can use multiple assessment systems, as they structure each on a different level, appropriate to the type and characteristics of the organization and the level and characteristics of the evaluators. This adaptation is vital for the proper functioning of the method and to obtain results. It is important to bear in mind that the system one would choose will be a tool, a method, a means and not an end in itself. It is a means for information data and information that can be recorded, processed and piped to the decisions and arrangements that seek to improve and enhance the performance of the organization. This paper discusses the tools for conducting an organizational assessment in a holistic context. Furthermore, the paper applies the discussed tools on the selected organization.
Discussion and Analysis
The rules of business are changing, creating new challenges for everyone involved in the global economy. The fact remain competitive means assuming the change, establish new relationships, optimize the talent and people, and companies in companies transform interactive driven by both the customer and the employee.
Today, there are two basic ways to organize evaluation: external and internal. Each of the above methods has its own advantages and disadvantages, which determine their application in a particular situation.
External Evaluation: External evaluation is conducted by third-party observers (most often - the experts or a special commission). This approach provides more objective results, but it requires a considerable amount of time because it usually involves more work (as compared to internal evaluation) (See Table 1).
Internal Evaluation: Internal evaluation is conducted by the employees of the organization itself (See Table 1).
One can say that organizational assessment in general, is a systematic effort that is applied to an organization to assess its management focused on fulfilling its mission, from optimizing their processes. The tools for organizational assessment are used for:
Validating and refining the activities of the company
Provide information to the top management who wish to improve the organizations' future performance
