A procurement hub, from glittering world famous buildings to the long road network, from world's tallest building to islands and sand deserts, largest oil market to biggest man made ports of the world, it all represents the city of Dubai. Dubai is a capital city of United Arab Emirates along with Abu Dhabi. Dubai is considered as one of the wealthiest cities of the world and has been ranked number fourth at having proven largest oil reserves in the world. It has the largest population in the United Arab Emirates (Keefer, 2008, n.d). Dubai city is situated on the coast line of Emirates Northern and pates up Dubai Sharjah Ajman Metropolitan Area.

Unique features of the port
There are two main ports in Dubai which are being operated by Dubai Port Authority and have been ranked at number thirteenth in the world with a record handling of 5.15million TEUs in early 2000s; Port Rashid and Jabel Ali Port. Both are also known as world's best seaports and incredible Container Terminal Operators. Jabel Ali Port was later built in 1970's to assist Port Rashid and sometime signified as (Mina Jabel Ali). It is the world's biggest and most visited man made harbor and largest port in the Middle East covering the area and a size of 134.68-square-kilometer (52.00 sq. mi) along with sixty seven berths (Keefer, 2008, n.d). It spreads over one million square yards of ample area. Port Al Jebel has become the most frequently visited ports by United States Navy freestanding the United States. On the other hand, port Rashid often indicated as (Mina Rashid) is also a manmade commercial port of Dubai which opened in 1972. Initially, the port only had two gantry cranes and the aptitude of only 100, 000 containerization but later on in 1978 Port Rashid was prolonged to thirty five berths of which five were used by the largest container ships at that time (Keefer, 2008, n.d). Currently, the port has the capacity of 1,500,000 containerization and has nine gantry cranes.
