Merriam-Webster dictionary defines Marijuana as the dried leaves and flowering tops of the pistillate hemp plant that yield THC and are smoked in cigarettes for their intoxicating effect. The definition could be misleading because of the word “intoxicating” but not everything that is intoxicating means it is bad, painkillers for example. They are considered intoxicating but they are beneficial for people who are suffering certain types of pain. Also marijuana is an intoxicating leave, but it has its own medical benefits. Laws of marijuana prohibition can cause a huge damage in the society. Peaceful citizens are becoming criminals every day for such reason. In fact, since the establishment of marijuana prohibition in 1937, there have been 55,000 users in the United States.

Impact of Marijuana
Drugs are a major force of influence in our country today. The problem was so out of control that many options are being considered for control or even solve it. Ending the war against drugs seems to be impossible. The war on drugs seems to be the fulfillment of many, but this is not true. Various options should be considered (Ware, et al. 2002). Although many people think that legalizing marijuana would increase the amount of use, marijuana should be legalized because it will reduce the large sums of money devoted to the execution, and increase our revenues countries. There are also many benefits that can be uncovered to help people if legalization of marijuana is a chance. The impact of marijuana on the people is adverse and they have to make sure that it does not affect their health. In this manner, the people will be able to save themselves from any negative effect.

Cannabis are used in the USA for the treatment of cytotoxic-induced vomiting in cancer patients. The appetizing effect of cannabis is highly variable and depends on numerous factors. A tentative use in poor general condition of AIDS and cancer patients should be considered, however, if so, at least the physical deterioration is slowing. The use of cannabis as a substitute for analgesics [painkillers] could work in practice, because the opioid analgesics are the cannabis in the superior benefit-risk assessment. Other therapeutic applications such as glaucoma or asthma medicine, as anticonvulsant or antiepileptic drug have previously been researched adequately. With the discovery of cannabis receptors opened up a wide field for future research to understand the effects and mode of action of cannabis and to find new therapies (Svendsen, 2004).
