Introduction

The use or not of the school uniform has always been the subject of discussions in schools. The uniform began to be used in public schools and from there it gradually began to be adopted by other institutions as an essential thing in any educational institution whether public or private. A number of public schools opt for the use of school uniforms for children and adolescents. It is a practical item for the students, since the day to day clothes are expensive and wear out easily. Not to mention the fact that children always seek to draw attention somehow and school becomes a fashion rather than a place of study. However, using uniform avoids embarrassing situations as we have seen in recent days in the media. That is why schools ask student to come wearing appropriate clothing to the place of study.

Currently, the uniforms are not esteemed by a number of students. In fact, this standardization is important. First because it avoids the classroom becomes a “fashion show”. Moreover, its use develops in students a sense of belonging to the group and the fundamental psychosocial development of children.

Uniforms are created to equalize rich and poor in classrooms, equal clothing is also considered as one of the most important symbols for some public schools (Stanley, 1996).

By wearing school uniform neither the school has to complain and neither the student will have trouble getting through constraints. That is why public schools require that students must dress the same way.
