Mandatory Public Service for American Citizens

Introduction

America has played a vital part in the War on Terror. The country feels no fear when it comes to the safety of its people, or the safety of innocent people around the world. Numerous American soldiers have sacrificed their lives to protect fellow countrymen and those in need all over the world. America is extremely proud of its youth and their constant efforts to eradicate crime. Yet, more needs to be done.

Problem statement

Segal & Segal (2004) explain that the U.S military is an all-volunteer force. Its soldiers are recruited based on their own will and determination. The ongoing War on Terror has increased the number of required soldiers. Current military recruitment is approximately 200,000. The problem is that their tenure is subject to end after a prescribed tour, based on the individual's personal choice.

Thesis statement

“It should be mandatory for all American Citizens to serve the public by joining law enforcement agencies.”

Purpose of the Study

The research will be exploratory and descriptive. It will focus the thesis statement and attempt to provide possible solutions and methods to increase number of recruits, as well as methods to encourage the youth to partake in the country's war on terror.

Aims

The core reason for conducting this study is to create awareness amongst Americans. It will attempt to explain the importance of serving in public services, mainly military, police and fire stations.

Objectives

This study will highlight the responsibilities of the citizens of the United States.

Justify the requirement of recruits overseas and at home

Provide alternate methods of public service

Hypothesis

H1: It should be mandatory for all American Citizens to serve the public by joining law enforcement agencies

HA: it denotes the rejection of proposed hypothesis.
