Introduction

Managing Professional Development emphasises on the needs of the individual. It assists the individual to enhance their existing skills to improve present performance and build up new skills for their future personal and career development. Self development is personal development, and the person takes primary responsibility for his or her own learning and identifies ways to achieve this. In this assignment, I will be considering at what is included in MPD and what is needed to required completing a self assessment.

Task 1

Skills Audit

Developing meaningful skills and competencies are necessary for all the professional careers. The challenge becomes tougher in the administration and management sector as it discovers how to objectively assess competencies over diverse settings, specialties, yeas of know-how and geographic regions. My concepts had finally been thriving with some of the concepts moved into cost chopping and work enhancement measures. One of my most affirmative actions was to manage client's accounts. This provided me a base into the doorway of management while effectively putting my information of annoyance of previous years in the current job. I discovered it is far better to hear and communicate than in a natural way rather than yield edge service only.

My skills within the groups are an analysis and reflection of what others have said, rational and coherent arguments from the discussion. This ability has to be very useful this year, but when I need to group work I have to feel an active role in stimulating debates and discussions. As I said in my review feedback I need to relax sometimes, "say what I think, and more confidence? The meetings also increased my confidence especially as role play performed before an audience, and got ready to assert yourself, rather than passive, I have a tendency to retreat sometimes. In the assessment feedback session, this was something people felt was perhaps a weakness of mine. A famous anonymous saying “You should be more confident and powerful; often what you say is just as valid, if not more as other people who only say what you have to think sometimes” (Fullan, 2007, 78). This analysis is very true of me, and more self-confidence I need to more confidence in me.

Leadership

The leadership is essential in the organizational development of the successful companies of class world, where human resources is the fundamental basis of any organization. Among these resources is one that is scarce and very valuable: the leaders. Several authors claim that the crisis today in America is related to a "leadership vacuum", this also extends to companies, which are absent in many cases that human capital can transform ideas into reality. A leader is different from a manager or decision maker, which has the capacity for administration, without "lead" the group, organization or country to another stage of development (Darling-Hammond and McLaughlin, 1995, 597).
