Management Theory

Introduction

Management theories are designed in accordance to the need of time. There have been many theories designed and followed for better run of the management processes. Theorist have even classified various new approaches to the study of management and introduced new theories with the passage of time. For proper execution of management theories, theorists have even defined functions and processes through which a management can work accordingly. Theorists have even come up with various aspects involved in process of management. Later these aspects are evolved through different authors, who evolved old theories and aspects and transformed them with today's requirements in the business world (Hawthorne, 2010 .n.d). These molding of theories have brought a massive impact on the industry revolution and has been considered as the need of the time. This study is an analysis and discussion of approaches given by two authors about the management processes and theories, which are later compared with the aspects and processes followed in current era. This study talks about two known authors and their study about the management theories and are compared with the general practice of today's business management processes. It also talks about how these practices were being followed before and how time has evolved aged management theories with new and innovative approaches.



Discussion

Looking at the general perceptions and approaches of Management theories it has been observed with the study of Ernest Dale, who discussed about the basic principles and practices of management theory. The reason to have a discussion about his management approaches are because he was one of those authors who explained the classical approaches of management in his study which later get evolved with the growing trends of the market (Dale , 1978, Pp. 6- 50). According to his approaches and study, it has been viewed that management is not a closed system; it deals with the interaction of managers and people with various new environments. These environments include all the technological, social, legal, political and ethical boundaries in which they operate and that can bring influence over the management theories. This approach reflects a definition of management process and defines that 'it is a systematic way of doing things through optimum utilizing of resources and achieving the stated goals while considering the minimum cost and maximum profits (Dale , 1978, Pp. 6- 50).

Furthermore, after clarification of the need of management theory, the author has given a management approach on how to function and process a complete management. This functioning of management drives various theories and concepts within the study of management. With the process of following the functions and steps in attainment of defined goals of the management, the other viewed aspects are also involved which derived theory of management. These aspects involve various types of management theory.

Behavioral Management theory
