In the context of the contemporary global business environment there have been several drastic changes in the organizational structure of the business environment. The phenomenon of globalization has dynamically altered the standard operation procedures in the majority of the global companies, as these organizations now have to function in the global consumer market. The main benefit of globalization has been the enhancement in the consumer base of the organizations; however it has also made the companies highly sensitive to the volatile changes in the global business environment (Hannan & Freeman, 1984). One of the major impacts of the process of globalization has been the drastic increase in the empowerment levels of the global consumer base, as they have access to a variety of competitive brands. In the process of continuous improvement such questions have to be asked by the senior management of the organizations.
