Introduction

One of the keys for company success is the manager. Managers as the leaders of organisations, need to have several skills in order to be successful. One of the researchers, Robert Katz (1955) came up with an idea that there were three skills that managers need to perform their duties, which are technical skills, human or interpersonal skills and conceptual skills. He also found that those skills have different importance, depending on the level of managers in organisations. Furthermore, managers are categorized into three levels depend on their jobs. There are first-line managers, middle managers, and top managers. This essay will be focus on the human skills and its importance in all managers' level (Walshe & Smith, 2011, Pp. 118).

Discussion

Healthcare leaders and managers are faced with challenges when it comes to work ethics this is another issue that need to be included in strategic planning to protect the healthcare organization, clinical staff, patients, employees, community clinics, and suppliers. It is important that the ethical laws match the core values of the organization. The American College of healthcare Executives have came up with six traits that can help leaders and manager face ongoing challenges when it comes to ethics in the workplace.

A good leader or manager will be ethically conscious by possessing this trait the leader or manager he/she must have an appreciation for the ethical dimensions and implications of one's daily actions and decisions. Ethically committed being completely devoted to doing the right thing. Leaders can be aware of a decisions ethical aspect but may consciously disregard or discount them. Ethically competent a leader of manager must be having the knowledge and understanding required making ethically sound decisions.

A leader or manager must be ethically courageous act upon these competencies even when the action may not be accepted with enthusiasm or endorsement. A leader and manage must be ethically consistent by establishing and maintaining a high ethical standard without making or rationalizing inconvenient exceptions. They must be able to accommodate and justify an action or a decision that is ethically flawed. A leader should be ethically candid by being open and forthright about the complexity of reconciling conflicting values, be willing to ask uncomfortable questions and be an active, not a passive, advocate of ethical analysis and ethical conduct. This is another trait that a leader and manager should have in order for a healthcare organization to run effectively.

Diversity is the state or fact of being diverse, and many leaders and managers are faced with many challenges as they being to interact with racial and ethnic backgrounds in the United States. Many advocates look at this challenges from two different perspectives one being customization, while other advocates for homogenization.
