ABSTRACT

This report is based on a case of ABC Systems Company that is facing challenges and issues in managing its human resources. The company needs to bring change in its organizational structure and processes in order to attain the long term goal i.e. expansion of business in other European countries. The issues related to human resource management can be handled with the help of strategically aligned human resource department. With the help of various human resource processes and systems such as training and development, compensation and benefits, recruitment and selection and performance management system ABC Systems Company will be able to improve its relationship with the employees.

Introduction

ABC Systems is a small but growing Information technology company, which is having a mission of fulfilling needs and wants of the market. The company is willing to expand its business through introduction of new product lines in European countries. Through this initiative the company will be able to manage the growing demands of the customers in an effective way. ABC Systems is currently facing huge challenges in market expansion, as the organisational structure and culture are not supportive to this change. This is the main reason that the company is facing number of issues during management of its functions.

The organisational processes and structure of the company are not conducive, as the organisation is not able to bring greater changes in its performance. Some of the major challenges and issues that the company is currently facing are absenteeism and turnover of the employees, which is mainly due to in-effective recruitment and selection process used by the company. The employees of the company are found losing motivation and work commitment that is affecting their performance level. It is found that the company is not following any well defined recruitment or induction process that would support the organisational process and structure. It is found that the organisations, which are unable to manage the motivation level of the employees face huge decline in their organisational performance.

Employees are the most important or in reality base of the organisational structure and if they are not satisfied with their job descriptions than who come they would be able to give their best performance. ABC Systems is facing decline in its product quality and output mainly due to in-effective compensation and benefits system installed in the organisation. Those organisations are successful which are having strong and competitive compensation and benefits system along with effective performance appraisal management systems. Both these systems help the employees as well as the organisation in maintaining effective connection among the productive employees and it also helps in highlighting the non-productive employees that are simply cost to an organisation.
