Introduction

Organisational communication plays an important role in streamlining the processes & performances. It has a huge impact on organisational culture, and associated outcomes. Workplace communication cultivates a professional exchange of knowledge or information. Many times, the intricacies of the communication processes are ignored, resulting in communication failures. These failures are destructive in terms of individuals' performances, organisation's success, and development (Perry et al, 2008, p.87). That is why, organisations work towards improving workplace communication in terms of communication modes & skills.

For effective management, it is essential to realise the value of internal or external communication. The essay discusses the communication processes of Building Societies Association. Overview of BSA (Building Societies Association)

The organisation is a trade association that serves the purpose of a financial association. BSA offers saving accounts & mortgages as its primary business. There are 54 building societies, within UK, which are BSA members. BSA represents them in various areas (www.businesscasestusides.uk).

Communication Processes in BSA

BSA uses a wide range of communication techniques within the organisation. One can observe that communication has a significant value for BSA. It is because BSA's business involves a lot of external communication; therefore, it becomes essential to streamline an appropriate procedure & communication practice within the staff. The workforce uses a variety of methods including emails, weekly meetings, and telephonic conversations. The communication process follows the following procedure:

The selection of medium is identified by the type of message & the intended receiver. The organisation uses both verbal & non-verbal modes of communication. For non-verbal communication, the chosen medium is Internet or Intranet (Company's local network). When the workforce needs to be informed about a new UK policy, the leadership dispatches the updated policy through online PDFs. Depending upon the intended message; the organisation follows any of the following communication topologies:

Analysing the Communication Purpose

CRM: The software maintains the record of calls, email or any other type of communication, which took place with a client. The software allows the manager to place an activity on a specific client, and assign the task to the intended employee. The employee gets the task in the form of a notification on the CRM. Upon analysing, one can reflect that the main purpose of this communication process is to inform employees about a particular task. It is particularly important for an employee to know what needs to be done next in order to close a deal.
