Mr. Bolland , the Chief Executive Officer at Marks and Spencer Group has been working with the group since the year 2010. He had been working as the Chief Executive Officer at Morrisons Supermarkets from the year 2006 to 2010. And before that he worked at Heineken for about a good twenty years where he served numerous management roles, being an Executive Board member along with being the Chief Operating Officer, along with having responsibility of business operations and development in various countries of the world. He is a very brilliant man who goes about finding solutions to all problems and challenges that come up. He believes in taking up challenges upfront and fighting against them to prosper and grow. He knew well how to organize and strategize business so things run smoothly.

Marc Bolland is a great leader who has a very clear vision, which is regarding sustainability while he also very well knows how to keep his feet leveled and firm on the ground. Bolland believes that his dealing of leadership begins with the shareholders. He does not care if the investors think that he cares too much regarding the sustainability agenda this is because he does not much believe in short-termism. Instead, he believes in both short-term goals and opportunities along with long-term vision, which structures the manner in which the company works about. Bolland is as a true leader is totally clear-cut, unrepentant and focused about what how to have sustainability in his business. He is also very well aware of the various challenges, majorly, which are related to engaging consumers and modifying the consumer behavior. He forecasts that sustainability is now much lesser on the radar of consumers but three to four years back, he said that collecting that economic concerns fully pushed sustainability down in the concern list of people.

M&S started recently selling a suit, which M&S announces and exclaims to be the “world's most sustainable suit.” One day Marc Bolland came in wearing the suit and to reveal that he was not just wearing the suit but he knew it inside out he stood up and explained about the magnificent suit and its different parts. This explains that truly the suit was not well designed, highly stylish, of good quality and, manufactured in ethical conditions but also it was being sold at a very affordable price (Northouse, 2007).
