Introduction

Employee behaviour is of great importance within an organisational setup as it helps the organisation in managing the attitude, willingness and desires of the employees. Employees who are having positive behaviour towards the organisational objectives are beneficial for the organisation as they will be performing their assigned tasks and duties in an effective way. There are various ways by which the managers can manage the behaviour of the employees. The most common ways are providing better work opportunities, quality incentive and reward systems. Employee behaviour can be handled by the managers in an effective way by identifying the motivational needs of the employees.

Keeping the employees motivated is of great importance in making a conducive and productive workplace. An organisation cannot survive if the managers of the organisation are unable to manage the behaviour of the employees in an effective way. The managers need to manage the negative behaviour of the employees as it can create huge trouble in the way of organisational progress. The progress of the organisation is dependent on the quality of systems introduced within the organisational setup. It is very true that employee behaviour can be effectively managed with the help of rewards and incentives. The managers need to address the issues of the employees in an effective way only then they can encourage positive behaviour in the workplace.

Literature Review

Whenever the employees are not treated accordingly in the workplace negative behaviour is developed in the workplace that can be harmful for the well-being of the organisation. The role of human resource management and development plays an active role in the management of the employee behaviour as it helps the managers in designing quality performance management systems that are mainly introduced in the organisations for managing the performance of the employees. The performance of the employees can help the managers in understanding the behaviour and attitude of the employees in the workplace (Harris, 2011, p.25). If the employees are having positive attitude towards the organisational objectives and they are achieving the benchmarks and standards that are allocated to them, it shows that they are motivated with the organisational environment and the systems that are running within the organisational setup.
