Resource Management

Summary

The success and effectiveness of an organisation is dependent on the managers, who are made responsible for managing and controlling the scarce resources that are provided to them to achieve the overall organisational objectives such as profitability, productivity etc. Every organisation has some well established and well defined organisational objectives that are used for accomplishing the organisational mission and ultimately its overall organisational vision. Every organisation produces or provides goods for the society in the form of services or products and if the products or services are of good quality that organisation will be able to attain its organisational objectives in an effective way.

Organisations have various resources such as physical, human and financial and all these are of great importance in fulfilling the established organisational objectives. It is the responsibility of the managers at all levels divisional, departmental or organisational level to keep good track of the resources that are used in production of the final goods that can be service or product. ERP software is effectively used in the organisations for managing the supply and demand of the resources that are used in various departments of the organisation. The manager should be able to diagnose the material used in the production of a product or service and should be able to recognize the costs attached to each product or service. Human resource is of great importance within an organisation as without them an organisation can never be able to accomplish the established organisational objectives (Tallon et.al, 2011, p.463).

I have to provide details to the compensation and benefits department of the organisation for allocation of the appropriate salary and other incentives, therefore I have to keep proper performance appraisal for gauging the actual and expected performance of each of the subordinate.
