The Psychological Contract

Psychological contracts are made of certain set of promises and expectations which are developed between the parties which are involved in employment. These parties encompass the employers, and the employees. Not like formal contracts that are made up in an employment, this particular contract is unspoken or inherent. It tends to be indistinguishable, unspecified, undeclared and informal.

According to research carried out by Deneulin, employers expect employees to give them a fair day's work, for the growth and prosperity of the organization, and report to work on a regular basis. This particular contract involves duties that require that the employees need to be loyal and trustworthy to the employer for whom they are working. Sustaining the psychological contract is extremely important for maintain a positive employment relations. The psychological contract looks for effective interaction and communication that should persistently take place between the employer and employee. With time this develops an atmosphere of trust if both parties are constantly fair with their actions, and keep up their clear and unspoken promises through effective two-way communication (Deneulin, 2009).

What Group of Employees Generation Y Refers To

Generation Y actually refers to the demographic legion which took birth amidst the years 1975 and 2000. This particular group totally relies on new media and digital technology which has a very short span of attention. They look forward for entertainment and fast-paced information and are self-centered hence do not like to form up teams. At times this particular group is also termed as echo boomers. Other names for this particular generation group are the Millennials, the Internet Generation, and the abbreviated Gen Y.

A child born who was born in the year 1976, most likely to a true baby boomer, could also have a child born in 1996 that is about a good 20 years later. There is no authorized agreement that specifies the commencement or the end of Generation Y.
