In today's world, businesses have to work in amidst high levels of uncertainty and environment change. The right planning of today will support employees, customers and the community at large to survive in the future (Lockwood, N., 2005). This helps protect our business and gives a better chance to the company for survival. One way of dealing with the change in the external environment, be it as serious as the Hurricanes like Rita and Katrina or other serious events like cyber crime, work place violence or union strikes a company can deal efficiently in these situations only if it has done better planning in crisis management. The key issues facing the organization today include safety and security of the personnel working in the organization, the reputation of the organization, the economy it deals in and the decisions made by the top leadership. In the case of organizations, managers play a key role in managing activities by hiring the right individuals and giving them responsibility (Hancock et al. 2009).
