Making an interview with English as Foreign Language (EFL) teachers in Technical Colleges

Introduction

Based on the survey analysis, 14 items were identified which were further discussed with the participants in order to understand the reason behind their response.

Q7 Create graphics (e.g., Paint)

Create graphic\the use of technology has been one of the greatest tool for the teachers as there are many other tools that can be used when EFL is used especially by the teachers. In order to find the importance of Graphics, for the teachers who are using EFL and technology simultaneously, majority of the teacher responded in a positive response and agreed that the visuals are being as one of the powerful tools as it need no language and can be used and understood by all of the students as well as the teacher universally. On the other hand most of them responded that as graphics speaks the universal language, therefore, there is a lesser possibility of misunderstanding or interpreting for a particular subject, thus, the hindrances that are created by the language can be of the important instrument in this regard. Therefore, most of them agreed that use of graphics hold a very important place and therefore should be used. And in this regard implementing technology is an important aspect for the students as well as teachers. Therefore they showed up the high willingness towards the use of the graphics as an important tool and instrument.

In response to the question when the teachers were inquired about using or creating graphics as an instrument for supporting learning activities, the responses were highly diverted to the high willing and explained that the use of technology can be an important aspect. As explained that most of the teachers were not native so they were not aware of the local culture, however EFL is already as important criteria for help. Moreover, usage of graphics can be an important tool as it is a fact that it is easier to memorize a certain story when compared it to be delivered through the language or heard by someone. Therefore, for students, in order to interpret or to perform learning activities, graphics can play a very important role.

When the teacher were inquired about their responses, than they explained that the reason was to understand the usage or the importance of certain aspect in the best interest of the students. On the other hand they explained that the government is already providing them with these tools therefore it is important to make most of this technology. Further, it also help them to communicate more effectively with the students as the student are more satisfied when a certain aspect is communicated through visuals.
