Abstract

The early concepts of mental treatments focused on keeping patients isolate from outside world and control their behavior with electric shots and heavy medicines. Families often leave their mad member in asylum to life and death and were not even allowed to meet them at asylum. That is the reason that people started avoiding asylums for the treatments and preferred to get treated occasionally at the mental hospitals or private clinics. The paper consists of the overview of mental asylum, its brief history, discussion and in the end, the results of the discussion.
