Article # 1
Child behavior is worse today than it was ten years ago. It is one of the biggest issues of our country. Children today have misled by the excessive use of internet, games and movies that promote violence, lack of physical sports and games, gap between parents and kids, social networking and television programs. The lifestyle has been changed over the last ten years. Life has become faster, and economic constraints have forced every member of a family to work. Children are rude, misbehaved and show disrespect to the parents and others.
Nowadays, we can find many kids yelling or screaming out loud at public places because the behavior of children has worsened during the past years. There is a big list of bad influences that are responsible for this. The rise of technology is one of the most important influences that include TV, social networking sites, video games and mobile phones. The gap between parents and children is another important factor making the child stubborn and peevish. Children need proper attention, love and affection from their parents, but in this fast moving world, the parents do not have enough time to pass with their kids. Children have made their own world of friend and have set their lifestyle according to their own preferences (Duncan et.al, 1994). That is why when we ask a kid to do something unusual of his/her routine, they behave in a strange way. According to different internet surveys and polling it has proven that a child behavior is worse today than it was ten years ago.
The academic characteristics of children with emotional and behavioral disorders have been observed as; children who are likely to disrupt classroom activities, being impulsive, inattentive and/or distractible in a classroom setup, being mentally caught up, does not seem to be abiding by the classroom rules, having poor levels of concentration, transitions in routines, irrelevant contribution to lectures, demonstrating aggressive behavior, lacking to fulfill optimal attendance, lower self-esteem having self destructive behavior, anti-group contributor and often manipulative of situations.
If a student who demonstrates above listed behaviors, they may be considered to have a behavioral and/or emotional disorder. A behavior specialist or psychologist is likely to be able to provide adapted diagnosis for the child, based on his observations, behavior documentation and checklists (Gallaudet University, 2011).
