Love

A beautiful feeling of intimacy, closeness, romance, affection, admiration and attachment is what the word love is all about. Love is a symbol of utmost care, pure warmth and proximity. Such emotion can be in all the forms including physical, spiritual or even imaginary.

The word love can refer to a variety of feelings, and behavioral states, ranging from pleasure, usually associated with an object or activity, to deep or intense attraction for one or more people. This diversity of jobs and meanings of the word make it difficult to define the term 'love' in a universal way.

As a concept, generally, love refers to a deep feeling of warmth and admiration towards a person. However, even this explicit source of love consists of a wide range of different feelings, varying from the desire of passionate love and romance, to closeness and tenderness of the sexuality, and comprising of family love or the platonic love, and spiritual devotion of religious love. Love in its various forms serves as a major factor in social relations and occupies a central place in human psychology, making it also one of the most common themes in the art. (Emerson, 285)

Love is the key element involved in illumination, which later seems to fall into place. Unique emotions are a good way to describe love in a relationship between two people. When in love, the partners do things for each other without expecting any return on this investment. It is an absolute feeling which does not need any compulsion. With regards to this feeling, we do not have to prove our sacrifice to show our love and connection. Love is so tolerant and accepts enabling us to forgive and be patient at our partner's mistake. In love, the relationship and the feelings of joy remain eternal to death and beyond. It matures into a link of mutual liking, friendship and trust which is one of the best outcomes of love.

After examining a large number of theories on love, I have only found myself in a more complex situation. In Scott Peck's book, The Road less Traveled, various conglomerates of dimensions have been discovered within the topic of love. A common myth in this society is 'Falling in Love'. According to Peck, the act of falling in love is a misleading notion. He says that a differentiation has to be made between the act of real loving and the term 'falling in love'.

There are different types of love. Besides the love between opposite genders, love could be between parent and child, man and God, siblings and animals too. Generally, love is the feeling of unconditional care, support and admiration for anyone. (Amini, 186)

Thus, Love exists in many forms and relations. It includes the warm feelings for different people. Somewhere, it is all about friendship and being open, while at other places, it requires romance and lust. There is a further category known as infatuation.
