Introduction

The organizational behavior is the key factor for the success of the company. The way the organization treats its employees and the kind of working environment is provided to employees are all together make organizational culture.

Organizational culture specifically focuses on the code of conducts and ethical behavior of employees and management with in the workplace. The purpose of writing this paper is to evaluate the organizational culture of the Lockheed Martin's and all its leadership styles and production techniques. This will also examine the company's key success factors in this paper.

Lockheed Martin is the industry leader of providing solutions to its 300 partners in 75 different countries worldwide (Murphy, 2010). The company mission and its social programs keep the company going up and up in the industry.

Discussion

Lockheed Martin is an American based advanced technology, aerospace, security and Defense Company with worldwide interests. The company came into being by the merger of Martin Marietta and Lockheed Corporation in March 1995.

The company is the world largest defense and military contractors. The company operates its business in 5 different business segments, comprises missile and fire control, aeronautics, space systems, information system and global solutions and mission systems and trainings.

Organizational Behavior

Organizational behavior refers to the change in behavior of individuals within the organization for the purpose of improving the effectiveness of an organization.

Organizational Culture

It refers to pattern of assumptions that are considered valid and that are taught to new members as the way to feel, think, and perceive in the organization. The organizational culture provides a sense of identity and increase the commitment of members to the organization. It also serves as a tool for shaping behavior. Culture also reinforces values in an organization (Bratton et.al, 2010).

Organizational theory is the study of human resource studies and organizational behavior of an organization. Some of the relevant organizational theories are discussing below:

Classical Organizational Theory

Classical organizational theory espouses two perspectives. Scientific management and administrative management. Scientific management approach focuses on the management of workers and work while the administrative management focuses on issues concerning how overall organization should be structured. Scientific management approach includes scientific job analysis, selection of personnel, management cooperation and functional supervising (Rouse, 2011).

Social Identity Theory

Social identity theory can be describe as how the difference of status of different groups and individuals affects the group and individual behavior and ability to move from a group to another. Following are the aspect of this theory: the interpersonal-intergroup continuum, individual mobility, positive distinctiveness, social creativity, positive distinctiveness strategy, social competition.
