Abstract

Our research is upon the topic “Accommodation on campus v/s off campus”. The introduction shades some light on what is on campus accommodation. There are various benefits of living on campus. The most important one is convenience. Research has shown that students who live in on campus accommodation are more successful in college in comparison to off campus students. One important reason is that, students are living with people who are there for the same purpose. On campus students are better problem solvers with more cross cultural awareness. On campus accommodation provides an environment that nourishes personal and educational growth of students. Advantages and disadvantages of both on and off campus are given. A pie chart study denotes the likeness among students.

Living on or off campus can significantly alter your study experience. Living accommodation on campus are particularly designed and maintained residence on the university grounds . Benefits of living on campus are numerous. You have the ease of residing close to teaching facilities; it is like a small community life,. It gives you a great chance to take full benefit of campus life and an energetic student social life. On campus residence provides support and aid to make the most of educational opportunities. Facilities offered on campus differ from campus to campus some universities offer a typical traditional university student house living whereas as you are away from home other universities offer residence designed home-like (Student Services Housing, n.d.).

On campus students can save a lot of travelling time. They can reach their early morning classes without getting into traffic jams. At library students can take part in the late-night study sessions. Students live in walking distance from class rooms, library, science and computer labs, dining halls and re-creational centers. Students save time if they have a gap between their classes they can come back to their rooms. Usually 24/7 maintenance and security is provided by on campus accommodations. On campus accommodations offer more safe environment, where students live and study. Usually a security service is present on all campuses. The security service takes care of the safety of staff, students and campus property.
