Introduction

In 1863, Abraham Lincoln proposed the Ten-Percent Reconstruction Plan. However, just as he was working in order to begin the implementation, he was assassinated in 1965. The assassination put a stop to the plans that he considered would change the fate of the country (Rodrigue, 2013).
