Life of Jesus

Introduction

Many authors have attempted to write a life of Jesus, which is a hot topic that reflects how often a given philosophical school positions itself in relation to Christianity: the history of these publications also reflects the history of Western philosophy. This paper focuses on the Birth of Jesus - infancy/human, Jesus ministry - baptism/Passover, Passion of Jesus and the resurrection of Jesus.

Birth of Jesus - infancy/human

The birth of Jesus has been a miracle in the history. He was born by the virgin mother called Marry who was jewfish women. The birth date of Jesus is celebrated by Christians on December 25, day of Christmas, and marks the start of principle in the Common Era. Day or years are in fact precisely known, and December 25 was set at the beginning of the sixth century by the monk Dionysius. The main sources are the infancy narratives of Jesus, found in the early Gospels of Matthew and Luke, whose historicity is doubtful and comprehensive chronological indications give inaccurate or contradictory. Given these difficulties and uncertainties, historians generally agree that Jesus' birth probably occurred in the last years of the reign of Herod I the Great.

The main sources are the infancy narratives of Jesus which found in the early Gospels of Matthew and Luke, who poses many literary historical, as their writing is behind, under rather wonderful way to childhood stories of Jewish-Hellenistic world. The Gospels of Mark (the oldest, composed around 70-80, which according to theory of the two sources, would be one of two major common source of Matthew and Luke) and John (the latest, to 95) begin with the preaching of John the Baptist and the baptism of Jesus. The composition of the Gospels of Matthew and Luke is generally dated 80s (Ehrman B., 1999).

On the childhood of Jesus, Matthew and Luke differ radically in their narrative structures and their stories, and it is generally considered that they were written independently. The infancy narratives are the last part of the evangelical tradition to develop (after the accounts of the Passion, and the ministry of Jesus), a trend which led eventually to the drafting of infancy gospels as independent the Proto-Gospel of Jacques and the Gospel of the Infancy of Thomas.

Jesus ministry - baptism/Passover

We do not know much about the rest of the years of childhood and youth of Jesus. Certainly it must have been an obedient teenager, helping Joseph in the carpentry, the family business. The next data that tells the Bible (which is all we need to know) is that Jesus was to be baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River to the south and east of Jerusalem. He was about thirty years, with this, began his public ministry.

he ministry of Jesus lasted more than three years - according to the prophecy of Daniel 9:27, just three and a half years, because "in the middle of the week would cause the sacrifice", etc.. Here's how to ...
