Federal, State, and Local Levels of Law

Local Level of Law

The local police in the US has jurisdiction only in the country. They can also enforce local ordinances such as local parking ordinances, or "no skateboarding" ordinances and open container violations. Moreover, they also look upon the criminal and the laws associated with traffic.

State Level of Law

The state police has jurisdiction all over the State and this enables them to enforce criminal, and traffic laws. However, they are not eligible to enforce local city ordinances.
