Grade: 5th

Lesson Topic: In this lesson, the development of persuasive skills for writing would be given maximum priority. In the class, students would be working in groups in order to learn how to get engaged in cohesive arguments regarding the teachings in the class. They would be gaining the knowledge regarding the tools and techniques that are effective enough to convince the target audience. The strategy would involve collaboration of students to provide them with an opportunity to practice persuasive form of writing. The students would be asked to prepare a persuasive essay in written form that can be sent to their family members, friends, and other faculty of the school in order to gain their feedback on the persuasive skills of the students.

Aim: Improve persuasive vocabulary of the students

Outline:

Encouraging the students to read articles and stories that are full of convincing words and strategies

Asking the students some comprehensive general questions regarding what they have read in the articles and stories

After a discussion regarding the text, encourage the students to identify the persuasive words from the list that can be found in the reading selection. Once, students have done successful identification of the words, they would be asked to give synonyms for the persuasive words.

Students need to come up with a project that can be presented in front of the whole class

They will be evaluate the overall teamwork

To work effectively and efficiently in a group of ten students

To use the knowledge gained in previous writing courses in creating the a persuasive writing project

To use vocabulary regarding persuasion throughout the project

Cultural Objective: By sharing the knowledge of percussive writing students would be getting connected to different people.
