Introduction

This formulation of lesson plan will help the students of primary grade in learning and recognizing antonyms of words used in English language. This lesson plan describes different ways of teaching words and opposites to typical and special students in the class. The class chosen for the lesson plan contains some students with specific needs. These students are actually suffering from a mental disability named as mild cognitive impairment (MCI). MCI is a mental disability that may include the issues with language, thinking process, memory and judgmental abilities. It is not a severe mental malfunctioning but a slight difference occurs in the mental process of children suffering from MCI (Peterson, 2003). The teacher has modified the lesson plan in order to teach these particular students. It will help these special children in learning the antonyms commonly used in English language. This will lead to enhancing the communication and language skills of the typical and mentally disable students of the class (Peterson, 2003).
