Task 11 Training Plan

New apprentices joining the organization will be made to join vocational training institutes. Apprentices will be provided classes in courses such as welding, mechanical drawings, general shop etc. A training session which will comprise of compulsory two hour class trainings in courses applicable to building and construction will be made mandatory for apprentices. The organization will introduce a mentorship program for the apprentices, which will serve as a useful mechanism towards enhancing the skills of the apprentices. The mentors for the apprentice will be from the same field of discipline as the apprentice.

The organizations HR department will actively will hold seminars and conferences catering to the needs of apprentices. Once the apprentice gets on board they will be provided with the induction training to help them get familiarize with the organization policies and procedures. This will serve as icebreaker for the apprentice and will make them feel comfortable in the organization. Through the organizations mentorship program on the job training will be provided to the apprentice. The mentors will be told to actively engage the apprentice and to ensure their participation in this program by making mentors to work practically on the things which have been taught to them.

Apprentices will first be shown & briefed about how things are to be done and then they will take center stage by performing the real task in front of their mentors. Proper evaluation from both the mentor and the apprentice will be taken to ensure whether the training plan is meeting the organizations requirements. The apprentices will be taken on field trips and shown how the real work is performed by the workers in different sectors. The training plan will also give apprentices access to the videos, which will give them handy insights into the work expected from them.

Health & safety training will be provided. This will ensure that workers are following all the required standards to ensure their safety & health. This sort of training will be provided to apprentices thrice weekly. With the apprentices taking charge, the frequency of training will be shortened as per the desirability. Certificates will be provided to the apprentice who successfully completes their vocational training along with the mentorship program. Apprentices who performs well during the mentorship and training program will be rewarded both monetary & through fringe benefits. The apprentices will be provided management training as well to improve their management skills and to groom people for future leadership roles.
