The company we have subjected; is Walmart. It is an American multinational retailer corporation that operates their warehouses stores and department stores of large discounts. According to the Fortune Global 500 list in 2012, the Company ranks the third largest biggest public corporation. It is the largest retailer in the world and also famous in their public employers in the globe, which covers over two million employees. Walmart, heading by USA, generated 51percent sales in the year of 2009. It usually operates Sam's Club warehouses in the North America. It has around 8,500 stores in different 15 countries.

Major initiative of the company

The nation's largest retailer, Wal-Mart has announced its five year plan, having the aim of reducing the price of foods which are good for health and to introduce broad collection of healthy food items under the safety packaging. They have planned to drop the prices on vegetables and fruits. The first lady, Michelle Obama has joined her hands together in the efforts of the company to divert the consumers to the healthier food. Her centerpiece of agenda is healthy eating and reducing childhood obesity. It seems first time that Mrs. Obama is supporting a single company. The plan is parallel like other corporations that they have taken initiatives for the public health and set their particular goals for lowering trans fats, sodium and sugars in a wide collection of foods. Moreover, Wal-Mart will be also working to eliminate extra cost to consumers for healthy foods which is made up with intact grains. The vice president of Wal-Mart said, by reducing the prices on fresh vegetables and fruits, it will make their own profit but it is being hoped to make up in the high sales value. Over a period of five years, the new changes will be introducing gradually by giving the specific time to the company, to handle with technical problems and to give certain time to the customers to adjust. It is noticed that Wal-Mart is hardly the first company which has taken such steps. It is also important to notice that the CEO of the Walmart has set the company globally in order to expand the chain of their suppliers and their new plan is also reflecting that they are going to make a new career plan of 500,000 jobs throughout the world by the year of 2015 where they have their franchises. The stores has carried out the 4 strategies in the way to maintain the next generation be known as the Generation of Walmart.
