Introduction

Learning in action has been gaining popularity as an approach for the improvement of performance, promotion of learning and positioning of an origination or individual to adapt to better things in a dynamic situation (Coghlan et al., 2012). This approach is also considered as an approach for the development of competencies of people, teams and the organization on the whole. In this paper, I will discuss my example of learning in action. Moreover, I will discuss the theory that can be applicable to my case.

Learning Experience

I have been a head of a major organization since last December 2012. In this organization, there are hundreds of computers are connected with an intranet. The firm is extremely reliant on this mode of communication for a large number of routine transactions in order to carry out its complex and diverse business operations. Thus the responsiveness and efficiency of the capability of computers can directly affect the performance the organization.

It had been observed by us that the computers' performance was slow for responding to the movement between screen images. This caused delay the process collectively and led to a major drag on performance. The issue was persistent even subsequent to the activation of national headquarters of major firms of computer. The firm expressed that the issue was insolvable and a new multi million system of computer would be needed. I personally sent a letter to CEO and managed to convince that a solution was present. I called my twenty two management trainee officers from 14 directorates. All these trainees had fundamental computer skills, however only two trainees were on development tracks to become computer experts.
