Introduction

For the field of nursing, reflection on practice appears as the main and key skill. Involvement in regular reflection helps the practitioners to handle or organize the professional and personal impact of directing fundamental wellbeing and health needs of their patients on a daily basis (McClure, n.d., p.4). The reflective practice is described as the process of making sense of situations, actions and events that take place in the workplace. It is believed that scheduling time for a busy day to day live of practitioners in frontline or forefront services is critical for enhancing the quality of services, offering much-needed help to staff, and making professional development of team members possible (McClure, n.d., p.4).

In order to promote evaluative and analytical abilities and also clinical reasoning in students is the main objective of all the placements through reflective practice. All the professional bodies integrate the advantage of employing reflective practice for health professionals as well as for students in their strategies for learning (McClure, n.d., p.4). A vision for the future is emphasized in order to explain the importance of improving the professional practice.

Discussion

Kolb's experimental learning cycle in learning disabilities

In the past 25 years, experimental learning has noticeably increased importance and prominence. Experimental learning has been affected by Kolb among others together with Bound and Walker and Cowen (Gibbs & Priest, 2010, Pp.115-118). This model initiates with the student possessing concrete experience followed by discussion, reflection, evaluation and analysis. All models have the same opinion that students rarely learn or gain knowledge from experience unless they assess and reflect upon that experience (Gibbs & Priest, 2010, Pp.115-118). With the help of this process students must get on a discovery process in order to gain under-standing and insight, and engagement and motivation in the process of learning must increase.

With the help of Kolb's experiential learning cycle as a reflective model or framework, the assistance of an experimental learning journey is explained in this context (Gibbs & Priest, 2010, Pp.115-118). Consider a small group of students of nursing in the United Kingdom who are examining the needs of physical health care along with the learning disabilities of people. It is believed that the targeted population requires greater needs of physical health care as compared to the common population. This population is not able to access proper health care (Gibbs & Priest, 2010, Pp.115-118).

The experience of working with people who were contributing in learning disabilities nursing has been discussed. The experience is about to examine baccalaureate students of learning disability nursing experiences numerous features of the nursing program. It is also explained that how their previous personal and educational and disabilities experiences affected the meaning that they provide to their educational experiences.
