Recent research highlights some challenges and issues to face nurses caring for the increasing number of adult people with a learning disability. Although learning disability nurses ideally places to care for adult people with a learning disability, specialist nurses to become involved in the care of their client group as a result of increasing complexity of need. For Example, mental health nurses and palliative care nurses have an important role in dementia care and supporting adult patient at the end of life respectively.
