Introduction

For any organization to meet its set goals and objectives it is necessary that the employees and the management are on the same page. For this to happen the management needs to identify leaders form the organization. Every other organization which tends to compete in the market tends to do so in order to attain the maximum market share and thus become a market leader. Every business in the world tends to depend upon the factor of profit maximization. That can only happen when you as an organization tend to remain ahead of your competitor. In order to do so one needs to adapt to the change and learn the new trends. This will help the organization obtain a competitive edge over the competitors. It is necessary for the organization to grow and advance together in order to meet the new challenges of the developing world. For this purpose organizational learning is considered as one of the most vital factors.

It helps the organization to meet the requirements of the developing world which tends to raise their position in the eyes of the consumers. Since the world is developing so fast that in order to meet the challenges of the post-modern world every other organization should learn to transform itself to the learning organization (Robert, 1999). Otherwise those organizations that would not stretch themselves to the change would be left behind. The future certainly belongs to those organizations which are ready to transform themselves. In order to understand the difference between the learning organization and conventional organization it is necessary that we tend to identify the difference between them.

The difference between them is the model proposed by Peter Senge known as Fifth Discipline, which will be discussed in the course of this paper. Moreover, the researcher would also analyze how this model helps an organization to actively indulge into the practice of organizational learning. This in the modern world holds the key to the progression and for the survival.

It is the model based on the ability to be able to see the world in its complexity to understand what really lies behind the change and understand the relationships between people and business outcomes. Following are the key elements attached to the model proposed by Peter Senge. Precisely Peter Senge in this model tends to answer the questions raised by the people in regard to the mistakes which keep on effecting the organization again and again (Peter, 2010).
