The Role of Leadership in Building Successful Organizations
Introduction
Leadership is indeed one of the most significant factors in driving the entire organization towards achieving organizational goals. A leader is more like a driver of the jet plane that can clash due to any misjudgement or miscalculation. They are real essential features to shape the various sources of the organizations while giving them enough attention and farsightedness. Leadership is next to inculcating creativity in the business approach. Creativity has been described as the expression of complex human capabilities which demonstrate the highest performance and accomplishments humankind can manifest. Yet, consensus has not been achieved in the social sciences as to the origin and nature of creative activity, or even in the value of exhaustive study in the field. Levitt argued that creativity can actually be destructive and counterproductive to the aims of an organization when not managed properly. According to Morgan et al. (2008), it appears great to gain an understanding of the profound dissimilarity between creativity and innovation. Later relocate the attention to spend more time on including creative people to assume added responsibility for execution.
Some leaders resist even the most innovative solutions, preferring instead to continue in familiar patterns of thinking and behaving no matter how incongruous those patterns might be with current research (Morrison, 2001). Kanter (2003) posited that “winning in business today demands innovation". Innovators build a reputation for problem solving and often reap benefits in the form of funding for research and development, learning laboratories and dedicated design space, as well as increased profitability and stakeholder satisfaction. Companies are investing billions of dollars each year on research and development, indicating the value being placed on new products, systems, and technological advances. The researchers conducted research with 30 companies across a variety of industries and found that the key driver for profitable growth is innovation. This coursework aims to find the insight of how leadership transform the organization into a progressive company. Creativity and innovation are the two important factors that distinguish those (leaders) from the rest of the individuals.
